Aline Dormer, RN, Ph. D
Dr. Dormer is a cofounder of the
Hwy 53 Medical Center and the board
chairperson of the Hwy 53 Medical Center. She is an
assistant professor at Oakwood University and J. F.
Drake Technical College in Nursing. She is
very involved at Oakwood University as an
educator and a prominent supporter of the Oakwood
Christian Academy. She completed her Bachelor of
Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in
Huntsville.
She earned her M.S.N. from the
Medical College of Georgia and her Ph. D. from
Bethany Theological Seminary. She has received many
accolades for Community Service including the
Alabama Governors Recognition Award and the
Certificate of Appreciation from the Red Cross for
Hurricane Relief Efforts.
Creigs C. Beverly, Ph. D.
Dr. Beverly is a professor emeritus
in the field of Social Work at Wayne State
University in Detroit, MI. He received his Bachelors
of Arts from Morehouse College and went on to
receive his Masters from Atlanta University of
Social Work and doctorate from the University of
Wisconsin. He received special tribute from the
State of Michigan for his influential work regarding
the Hartford Agape House. He is a respected
authority in the field of health care, education,
and social activism. He was one of the driving
forces behind the Detroit community-based
public health consortium. He has been a resident in
the Toney community and attends Mount Zion Baptist
Church.

Ms. Mims
received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology
from Eureka College. She is employed
by the City of Huntsville in the Division of Natural
Resources and Environmental Management where she has
over thirty years of work experience as an
Environmental Specialist and is currently serving as
Deputy Director. Her community activities have
included service on the Board of Directors for
Girls, Inc. where she served as member and officer
during her tenure and service on management review
committees for United Way of Madison County.
Larry Perry, Esq.*

Points, Jr. Esq.
Mr. Points
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public
Administration from Fisk University, a Master of
Public Administration degree from Jacksonville State
University and his Juris Doctor from Howard
University School of Law. He holds Bar licenses in
the State of Alabama, the District of Columbia and
the State of Pennsylvania. He is employed as an
Attorney for the United States Army Aviation and
Missile Command where he has served as a Labor and
Deputy Ethics Counselor for over twenty one years.
His community service includes services on the Board
of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Huntsville
and North Alabama and the Board of Directors for the
Alabama Civil Justice Foundation. His community
involvement also includes volunteer service with the
North Huntsville Kiwanis.
Annie Rapiere
Mrs. Rapiere attended Calhoun Community
College and The University of Alabama-Huntsville
where she studied Business and Computer Sciences. As an accomplished
Realtor with Keller Williams Realty in Huntsville
for the past 5 years, Annie was honored as Realtor
of the Year for 2006 by 1st Metropolitan
Mortgage. She is
a member
of the Huntsville Area Association of Realtors (HAAR),
the Alabama Association of Realtors (AAR) and the
National Association of Realtors (NARIS). She has
earned designations as a Realtor, including Graduate
Realtor Institute (GRI) and the Accredited Buyers
Representative (ABR).
Prior to her Real Estate career, Annie co-founded
and operated a successful high tech market research
firm located in Los Angeles, California where she
served as Chief Financial Officer from 1992 to
2002. This company served key clients from within
the semiconductor industry, as well as networking
equipment and personal computer manufacturers.
Jessie Turney
Mr. Turney
is a local general contractor and
owner of
Ashnah Construction Company (click for website
address). He has over 40
years experience in construction in the Madison
County area. Ashnah Construction has developed many
commercial and residential properties in North
Alabama, including Pulley Estates (Toney AL) and
First Missionary Baptist Church on Blue Springs
(Huntsville AL). He is avid farmer and maintains a
cattle farm during his leisure time. He is a long
standing Toney community member and is an original
member of the founding members of the Hwy 53 Medical
Center. His efforts have been very influential in
funding and erecting the new Hwy 53 Medical Center.

Members
Laurie V. Atkinson
Mr. Atkinson, a
civil engineer received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. He
retired from the U. S. Army Missile Command in 1982
where he worked extensively with Defense Weapons
Systems and continued as a Defense Weapons Aerospace
Systems’ contractor until 1998. He also worked as a
structural design engineer for the Corps of
Engineers and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Mr.
Atkinson’s military experience with the U.S. Army
includes tours of duty in Japan and Korea.
He was instrumental in aiding the Hwy 53 Medical
Center in establishing the new facility in Toney AL.
He retired from the board in December 2007. He is
one of our founding members and still is active in
fundraising and clinical activity.
